Streaming Live events. Yes or no? (The answer is yes)

If you're on the fence about whether or not you should be live streaming your events, we have compiled a short list of reasons that hopefully explain why it can be a great boost for your company, event and even your website SEO (yes, really!).

Take a look through our brief list and see if there is anything that you had not considered - there are bound to be a few.

  • Public relations

For one thing, live streaming is great for PR. It isn’t just the ‘face’ of an event that can be livestreamed, or even the only part of the event that can be live streamed. Showing the world what goes on behind the scenes, what you get up to and how everything works.

People love seeing the cogs of the machine, it’s partly why reality television shows are as popular as they are. Not only that, but companies are becoming increasingly aware that transparency is not a passing fad. Live streaming a corporate event lets customers see that you care about them and their opinions.

  • Boost your SEO

Search engines, first and foremost, love video and Google just happen to corner the market in both text and video search. Your live streamed event will also be recorded, and these can be made searchable in YouTube, Google and you can host or imbed the recordings on your website.

Live streams are also searchable on certain channels, including YouTube, and this also can affect your website rankings when people want to find out more about you and your company after watching an awesome (hopefully) event in the comfort of their own home.

  • Live streaming is a great brand builder

Getting people to your event is one thing, but why limit your audience to just one venue when you could potentially be in millions? The more people that see your event, the more acquainted they will become with your brand. Only a small percentage of people that visit a website, view an event, see an advertisement etc. will make a purchase. The more visitors, the greater the numbers of sales.

  • Live streaming is a prospect builder

Assuming your event went off without a hitch and everybody, attendees and ‘armchair’ viewers, was suitably impressed then there is a great chance that they will share with their friends. Word of mouth marketing is literally effortless, for you anyway, and should never be dismissed or taken lightly. However many people see your event, the number of potential clients will only increase with every link, tweet, mention and share made by your viewers.

  • Content generation made easy

Most companies use a variety of social platforms to engage with their customer base and by using these to broadcast the news of upcoming events and streams you can generate a fantastic amount of user generated content. This can come in the form of questions, responses, reviews of past events and forecasts about the next one.

Live streaming is much more than ‘just’ getting your event into the digital world, it’s about building an online presence that your company can build on in order to grow. If you have any questions about this or any other post, feel free to drop us a line.
